Well I’m absolutely delighted to have been involved in this amazing styled shoot by Jenny Sinclair from Bellaboo and Beau and superb photography from Rebecca Douglas Photography.  The team that Jenny and Rebecca pulled together from across Kent and Sussex really worked well from the outset so huge credit to the venue Chunkez Boating Pool and the team Nova Clarke’s WorkshopRebecca Brown Make Up,  Flowers by SP, Obsessions Salon, Sylvia’s Kitchen, Whippy Wedding, Nails by Debbie, Scotts of Margate, and the shoot assistants Leanne Benn and Ashley Charlotte.  When Jenny sent out to us all the creative proposal our combined imaginations ran riot and you can see that the results were quite breathtaking, not to mention completely on trend.  Have you been to the shops lately, it’s tropicana all the way.  Jenny’s concept for this was absolutely spot on and I’m proud to have played a part in it.  The Tropicana cake is now on display in the window of The Shop Next Door, Rye where they have an amazing neon theme too that ties in with the cake perfectly.  The team are chuffed to bits that the styled shoot has been featured by Kat Williams of Rock N Roll Bride

The Cake….Jenny had given us a detailed brief on the style, look and feel for this Tropicana shoot, together with an inspiring Pinterest board – which really excited me!  The use of the neons and bright, bold colours got my creative juices flowing straight away for a “thinking outside the box” cake design – I sent a few designs over to Jenny and elements were pulled from the sketched designs to bring together the final design.  This incorporated tropical birds and parrots that were cut out of sugar and hand painted with a mixture of melted cocoa butter and amazing edible dust colours that I sourced to achieve the look, complemented and highlighted with some Henna inspired gold edible lace. The bold design was then set on a blank sharp edged white base layer square cake for that crisp and bright look to really be brought to the fore.  The cake was finished with neon netting and ribboning to the base board for that final pop of bright.  An amazing shoot to have been involved in – and can’t wait for another one!
